What happens to my .realtor™ domain if I’m no longer a member of NAR or CREA?
The .realtor™ domain is an exclusive benefit available only to active members of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) in the United States and The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) in Canada. Because the REALTOR® trademark is a licensed membership mark, your eligibility to register and renew a .realtor™ domain depends on maintaining active membership with NAR or CREA.
If Your Membership Ends
If you are no longer a member of NAR or CREA:
-
Your existing .realtor™ domain will remain active until its current expiration date.
-
It will not automatically renew once it expires.
-
You will not be able to extend, renew, or register new .realtor™ domains without reinstating membership.
What You Can Do Instead
If you’d like to keep your website active beyond your domain’s expiration date, you can:
-
Register a .realestate domain – The .realestate domain is open to anyone in the industry and not tied to NAR or CREA membership.
-
Migrate your existing site – Our team can help you move your content to a .realestate domain so your online presence remains seamless.
If you believe your eligibility has been flagged in error, check with your local board to ensure your membership is active.
